what is Mental illness stigma support?
We are a community of young adults using our lived experiences with the mental health system and mental illness to support one another as we work towards reducing the negative stigma attached to mental health.
What do we offer?
Mental Illness Stigma Support offers individual and group Peer Support Sessions, Trauma Informed Yoga Classes and Stigma Free Social Events in Banff, Alberta.
We are passionate about creating safe, comfortable spaces for people to come together. For more information about our services, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org to speak with someone on our team.
We envision a community where all residents enjoy good mental health. Residents with a lived experience of mental illness, and their families must have access to resources, support and advocacy to which they are entitled. We envision a stigma free community where people will utilize the resources that our organization offers as well as the existing resources in their surrounding communities.
" Mental illness has been something that has impacted my life since 2012. When I heard that Abby was starting the organization, I knew it was something I wanted to be part of. I have dealt with my own depression and anxiety and found it was initially very difficult to deal with on my own. I believe that myself and people who have struggled with their own mental health will truly benefit from this volunteer based organization by having a safe place to come and voice their struggles with people of similar experiences.
